My wife, Zara’s, parents had made a deal with her for her four years of life at college. She had the run of their cabin on the lake, no questions asked. Just as long as she kept it clean and tidy in-between visits.
I’d never seen the cabin, even though Zara had inherited it a few months ago. I suggested we sell the small place; after all, it must have held too many memories for her of happier times with her parents.
