For over a year the men have played cards in one room while the women occupied another with several bottles of wine. With the twins to raise, money is tight for Jen and Chris, and they have to face up to the prospect of losing their home. He can’t work more overtime and she can’t find a normal job that covers child care costs. In desperation, Jen suggests she returns to the job she had when they met. The four young couples had it all, nice houses, nice cars, and the husbands had great jobs too. That turned out to be their undoing. When the plane carrying the husbands went down the four women were left devastated. At least they lived in the small gated community together, and were able to support each other.
As the weeks passed, financial problems began to mount. Salaries were no longer paid into their accounts, life insurance pay-outs seemed a long way in the future, let alone compensation for the crash.
