It’s pretty laughable thinking my father finds it appropriate attempting to set me up with his client’s son, and at my birthday party.
This should be labeled a business deal for the way it’s been going.
And to top it off, every time I look off from the wreck I find myself standing in, I find him.
Baron. My father’s watchdog.
Who I’ve now caught checking me out more than once this party. His eyes fixed on my every move, seeming unbothered by me taking notice.
I’ve always sensed Baron watching over all these years, promising my father to keep my safety in mind in lieu of his absence.
But I’m eighteen now. And things have…changed.
I’ve changed.
And with the night moving in, I’m now hoping to become more than just this promise…for Daddy.
